"Knowledge Management" expert and author Laurence Prusak presented a week's program exploring "Knowledge and Social Capital." Together, we looked at the difference between knowledge and data, and examined the intangible assets of trust, values, and shared experience that characterize healthy communities and organizations.

Larry is a dynamic and engaging speaker who travels the globe addressing these themes. He is Executive Director of the Institute for Knowledge Management and a managing principal with IBM Global Service Consulting Group in Boston. He has guest lectured at Harvard, the University of California, and N.Y.U., and is a visiting faculty member of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College. He is the author of Working Knowledge and other books and articles on knowledge management. His forthcoming book on social capital will be published by the Harvard Business School Press in 1999.
